Jana PLECITÁ

Jana graduated from the Law Faculty of Charles University in Prague. After her previous experience of spending a year in Canada during high school, Jana decided to apply her knowledge of English during her next study stay abroad and completed the ERASMUS programme in Swedish Jönköping. Jana repeatedly returned to the North American continent, this time to the USA, in the following years as a part of student programs.
During her studies at the Law Faculty, Jana worked as a legal advisor in Consumer Protection Association, a non-profit organisation. Jana used her experience in the field of consumer law after graduating as a lawyer at a law firm in Prague, where she also worked as attorney-at-law after passing the bar exam in 2010.
Jana has completed several courses for translators of professional legal texts from/to English at a translation agency which specializes in legal and economic translations. “Attending courses with translators of professional legal texts was a very valuable experience for me, which I use in my legal practice daily.”
Jana considers her long-term cooperation with a holding of development companies with foreign participation as the greatest contribution to her career. “The preparation of bilingual Czech-English contractual documents for the investor and his contractual partners from the general contractor, local governments to subcontractors, during all the phases of the project, and providing legal advice during the daily business activity of the investor is an area of law that fulfils me on the professional level.”
Jana specializes in civil law, especially real estate law and contract law, as well as commercial, labour law and private international law. Jana has been working in KOUBÍKOVÁ LEGAL as cooperating attorney-at-law since September 2020.
Jana speaks Czech and English.
